The students were shown cartoons, videos and specially prepared charts to highlight the significance of oral hygiene for maintaining healthy gums and good health.
DHA dentist Dr Naushin Aslam explained the concept of people-based health education to the students and discussed various dental and health-related issues with the children. She stressed on oral hygiene, regular brushing and periodic check up of teeth as the golden rules for a happy and healthy life.
The discussions were followed by a dental check up of students by the dentist. Complimentary brushing kits, charts and appropriate mouthwashes were distributed among the children.
The teachers accompanying the students were provided colourful charts and informative books to highlight the importance of oral hygiene in classrooms.
Brigadier Muzaffar-ul-Hassan (Retd), Director Education, DHA, while speaking on the occasion appreciated the initiative of holding special health programmes for the students.
He said that such programmes would help in inculcating healthy and good habits in the students during their formative years of life.
A series of dental health programmes for students of other DHA educational institutions is scheduled to be held in future. This event was jointly sponsored by two local pharmaceutical companies.-PR
